User IT
has relied on Kolo for stable colocation and private cloud infrastructure since 2018. With six years of uninterrupted service, the company continues to grow – delivering secure, reliable hosting from Danish soil.
Challenge
User IT is a Danish hosting and infrastructure provider specialising in private cloud solutions. The company serves a diverse client base – from construction firms and legal professionals to manufacturers and private hospitals – all with one key requirement: solid uptime.
Another important factor for many of these clients is data locality. User IT is one of few remaining privately owned Danish providers delivering private cloud services from Danish soil.
“That’s a big selling point today”, says Jan Sejer, founder of User IT.
The current partnership with Kolo, then Fuzion, began back in 2018, after User IT had rented infrastructure as a service from another provider but encountered too many issues. They decided to bring operations in-house and look for a local colocation partner.
Solution
Jan Sejer at User IT had prior experience with Kolo’s services and decided to turn to them again.
“When they opened a data centre nearby, we immediately bought a rack.”
User IT now runs four racks across two Kolo data centres, with full control of their infrastructure and private cloud environment.
“We’ve had two incidents in six years, neither of which was Kolo’s fault. That says it all. When something needs doing, they’re responsive and efficient. New requests are usually implemented within a week.”
The team manages their own hardware but occasionally uses remote hands for tasks such as cable routing.
“We’re not allowed to pull the cables ourselves, but for everything else we go on-site – I’m just half an hour away.”
User IT also designed a unique fibre setup in collaboration with Kolo, a critical step for the business that Kolo made possible.
“We own our IP addresses and work with both Telia and TDC. Kolo ensured that one fibre enters from the north, and the other from the south. It would take two excavators in two different places to cut us off completely. I asked for this setup, and Kolo delivered. That’s what I call service.”
Result
Since returning to Kolo, User IT has experienced six years of uninterrupted uptime.
“We’ve never had a single interruption with Kolo — and that’s why we’re still here and still expanding”, says Jan Sejer.
“With our previous solution, we had three breakdowns in three years. With Kolo: none. That’s the kind of reliability that gives us a competitive edge and strengthens our reputation in the industry.”
User IT has also gained the ability to maintain independence, agility, and full control over their environment.
“Being able to route our own IPs, switch providers in seconds, and operate with redundancy — all of that is possible because of Kolo’s infrastructure and mindset.”
Beyond technical performance, the relationship with Kolo is built on responsiveness and reliability.
“The service is great, and the pricing is fair. I’m not leaving Kolo unless I’m forced to.”
