Blue and Red
After years of steady collaboration, Blue and Red BV chose Kolo to host their next-generation workplace platform, TEOS. The move has significantly reduced cost while providing the flexibility and reliability needed to support continued growth.
Challenge
Blue and Red BV is a digital signage company with over eleven years of industry experience. Alongside their TDM platform for retail and public spaces, they’ve developed TEOS — a corporate workplace solution offering reception management, meeting room booking, wayfinding, and digital displays. Large enterprises are an important part of the client base.
Co-developed with Sony, TEOS has grown steadily over the years and was recently spun off as an independent product.
“As a separate company, TEOS can now move faster and innovate freely. The goal is to stay ahead of the market by offering fresh solutions”, says Freerk Duursma, ICT manager at Blue and Red BV.
Previously, TEOS was hosted on Amazon as part of the Sony partnership. But when it became its own entity in April 2025, Blue and Red BV sought a new infrastructure partner they could trust.
“We had already worked with Kolo for several years on our TDM platform, and the service has always been solid. So we felt confident moving TEOS to them as well.”
Solution
Blue and Red BV now operates from two Kolo data centres – in Dronten and at the newly opened Amsterdam site near Schiphol Airport. The dual-site setup is connected via a dedicated link, ensuring reliable backups and high availability.
“The Amsterdam site gives us more room to grow. We first considered expanding in Dronten, but there were power limitations. Now we’re live in both places, which gives us extra flexibility and resilience”, says Freerk Duursma.
Kolo’s portal-based access system also helps streamline logistics.
“We can register a visit for ourselves or others in just a few clicks. Everyone receives a confirmation, and physical access is well protected with multiple checkpoints and biometric verification.”
Result
By moving TEOS from Amazon to Kolo, Blue and Red BV has significantly reduced hosting costs – without sacrificing performance or control.
“Kolo’s service is fast and personal, and they’re always solution-oriented. It feels like a partnership rather than just being a customer”, says Freerk Duursma.
The improved infrastructure supports their clients’ growing need for flexibility and uptime – especially as hybrid work has increased demand for workplace tools like TEOS.
“Our corporate clients expect high availability and speed, and Kolo helps us deliver that.”
While they rarely need remote hands, the option is available – and support is always responsive.
“We’re nearby, so we often go ourselves. But the fact that we can always reach someone, and that Kolo helps us find solutions, makes all the difference.”
